I got this in my email, and it really explains the "reason for the season".
This is from my pastor's journal, and I just love how he describes how much God loves each and every single one of us. It is a short read. Please take a couple of minutes to take a breath and remember exactly what we are celebrating right now.

The pastor makes a good point - as Christians, we must recall that the "reason for the season" is truly Easter. Always a mix of shadow and joy as we march from Christmas through the brief period of time to Lent and our preparation for the crucifixion of the Lord and the greatest gift of our Savior, restoring our relationship to God.
